About Us
Produced by the Southeastern Horticultural Society, the Southeastern Flower Show reigns as the region’s premier juried gardening and horticultural event. For more than two decades, top garden designers have created spectacular displays that have showcased the latest landscaping trends as well as the newest and most desirable plant material and gardening products. In addition to competitions in floral design, horticulture, landscape and photography, the five-day indoor gardening extravaganza appeals to a variety of interests. Considered among the top juried flower shows in the nation, the Southeastern Flower Show carries on the tradition of the renowned Philadelphia Flower Show, the oldest flower show in America.
Featuring a new theme every year, the Southeastern Flower Show is an extraordinary exhibition, inspiring and entertaining visitors regardless of their gardening acumen. More than 200 invited judges from across the country critique the entries of many of the nation’s expert horticulturists. Unlike commercial home and garden shows scattered throughout the United States, this Atlanta-based event is produced by a nonprofit organization. More than 2,000 volunteers, along with corporate sponsors and patrons, support this much-anticipated annual affair.
At every Southeastern Flower Show, guests are treated to a celebration of natural beauty when the exhibition site is transformed into a vision of color and an explosion of scents. Attendees are offered a wealth of landscaping ideas and hands-on educational opportunities.
Our Mission
The Southeastern Flower Show is dedicated to promoting conservation and awareness of the natural environment through education, cultural enrichment, horticultural excellence and artistic expression.

Legacy Garden
One highlight of the show is The Legacy Garden, a collaborative effort between the Show, its exhibitors, area businesses, civic organizations and garden clubs to leave a lasting legacy to the community. The 2008 Legacy Garden, the fifteenth annual installation, will be donated to Piedmont Hospital. It will enhance the Byrd Barrier-Free Garden, used for rehabilitative horticultural therapy, and also enhance a deck outside the Infusion Center to enable cancer and other patients and their families to go outside and sit in a tranquil garden area during chemotherapy and other therapeutic drug infusions. The endeavor began in 1994 as a way to enhance the environment and create a lasting site to educate and engage members of the community and to provide gardens to enhance people’s lives.
Legacy Garden beneficiaries include:
- 1994 Amberwood Village, Reynoldstown
- 1995 City Hall East
