Imagine a soothing garden improving the moods of cardiac patients and calming their heart rates.
Imagine stroke patients enticed to work harder to improve their dexterity and balance while tending gardens in accessible planters.
Imagine cancer patients de-stressing while receiving their chemotherapy outside on a deck with comfortable chaises, a soothing fountain and colorful plantings tended by horticultural therapy patients finding joy in helping provide nature’s beauty to encourage others in their recovery from cancer.
The 2008 Southeastern Flower Show’s Legacy Garden will be donated to Piedmont Hospital’s Byrd Barrier-Free Garden and its Infusion Center.
